On Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, Vermont Academy will welcome all members of our Wildcat community back to campus for our newly combined Family Weekend and Old Home Days festivities!

Imagine a crisp autumn day filled with the vibrant colors of changing leaves, the taste of apple cider donuts, and the sound of laughter echoing down Long Walk as you explore campus, share stories, catch up with old friends, and create new memories.

We invite all alumni, past and current faculty members and trustees, families of current students, and friends of VA back to our hilltop for this exciting event!

Friday, October 18: Presentations, Tours, Food Truck Dinner, and more!

The school store will be open on the lower level of the Shepardson Center until 5 p.m. The Vermont Academy Parents Association silent auction items will be on display in the MacKechnie Family Lobby of Horowitz Performing Arts Hall until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

2:30 - 6:30 p.m.	Alumni & Friends Check-In and Registration Opens Horowitz Performing Arts Hall This should be your first stop when you arrive on campus. Pick up your name badge and a special gift.
4 - 4:50 p.m.	Transforming Student Experiences: Campus Updates & Donor Impact Tour with Director of Advancement Tonia Fleming P ’18 Depart from the VA Seal on Long Walk Join Director of Advancement Tonia Fleming P ’18 for a special tour as she highlights recent campus updates and how donors transform the student experience.
4 - 5:30 p.m.	VA Athletics & Afternoon Activities Showcase Various Locations Check out our fall athletic team practices and learn about various afternoon activities available to students. Offerings include: Girls' varsity and JV soccer scrimmage on Fuller Field Boys' varsity soccer on Lucy Field Boys' JV soccer on Hays-Naramore Field Intramural soccer on the tennis courts Cross country on E.K. Hall Track Wilderness team at Sturtevant House Mountain biking team at Warren Chivers Ski & Outdoor Education Center Crew in the Lucy Athletic Complex dance studio Strength and conditioning in the Lucy Athletic Complex weight and cardio room Yearbook at Fuller Field Audio/Visual at the media classroom Theater arts at the Nita Choukas Theater in the Horowitz Performing Arts Hall
5 - 5:45 p.m.	Alumni, Families, & Friends Social Tent on Horowitz Performing Arts Hall Lawn Alumni, faculty, current parents, and friends are invited to gather at the tent on the Horowitz Performing Arts Hall lawn for light hors d’oeuvres and a beer and wine bar. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know fellow members of the Vermont Academy community before the food truck dinner begins. Note: The bar will close at 5:45 p.m. as students begin to arrive for dinner.
5:30 - 6:50 p.m.	Food Truck Dinner Tent on Horowitz Performing Arts Hall Lawn Alumni, faculty, families, students, and friends will gather for a festive food truck dinner featuring Anon Thai, Jamaican Jewelz, and Frisky Cow gelato.
7:30 - 9 p.m.	Bonfire Nick Grout ’03 Memorial Fire Pit Warm yourself by a crackling fire and indulge in a timeless tradition as you toast the perfect marshmallow for your s’mores.
Immediately Following Cabaret	Vermont Academy Observatory Trip Meet in the Horowitz Performing Arts Hall On a clear night, guests are encouraged to explore Vermont Academy's observatory on a special outing led by science department faculty members.

Saturday, October 19: Reception with the Head, Athletic Hall of Fame Induction, and more!

The school store will be open on the lower level of the Shepardson Center from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Vermont Academy Parents Association silent auction items will be on display in the MacKechnie Family Lobby of Horowitz Performing Arts Hall until 12:30 p.m.

7:30 - 9:30 a.m.	Breakfast Shepardson Center Enjoy a delicious hot breakfast including a waffle bar with assorted toppings, scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, granola, and pastries.
8 - 11:30 a.m.	Check-In and Registration Open Horowitz Performing Arts Hall This should be your first stop when you arrive on campus. Pick up your name badge and a special gift.
8 - 8:45 a.m.	Trail Walk Led by Wilderness Team Members Depart from the Seal on Long Walk Join Wilderness Team members Andy ’25 and Luke ’26 as you explore Vermont Academy's trails together.
10 - 11 a.m.	Caffeine & Conversation: Visit with Head of School Dr. Jennifer L. Zaccara Leavitt House Stop in for a casual visit over warm beverages and pastries with Head of School Dr. Zaccara.
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.	Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Nita Choukas Theater, Horowitz Performing Arts Hall Vermont Academy will induct athletes Chad Wittman ’98 and Brooke Mooney ’14, and special contributor Jim Frey ’66 into the Athletic Hall of Fame. All members of the Vermont Academy community are invited to celebrate this special moment with them.
12:30 - 2 p.m.	Farm-to-Table Lunch Tent on Horowitz Performing Arts Hall Lawn Feast on a lunch prepared with locally sourced ingredients!
1 - 2 p.m.	Silent Auction Closes & Items Available for Pick-Up MacKechnie Family Lobby of Horowitz Performing Arts Hall The silent auction will close at 1 p.m. and items will be available for pick up until 2 p.m.

Silent Auction

The Vermont Academy Parents Association (VAPA) will host their annual silent auction during Family Weekend & Old Home Days.

There are many great prizes donated by local businesses and members of the Vermont Academy family including travel, ski passes, VA swag, and so much more!

The auction will open for bidding on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and will close at 1 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Proceeds benefit VAPA and its activities, which include faculty appreciation and support for initiatives that positively impact student life.
