The winter season is a long one in Vermont, and our 20 kilometers of national-level cross-country trails offer everything our Nordic athletes need, including snowmaking equipment and state-of-the-art grooming equipment.
The goal of the Vermont Academy Nordic program is to develop high-level skiers. Our varsity team competes in the Lakes Region and many members have recently participated in New England JOQ, Lakes Region, and NEPSAC races.
All team members receive customized instruction and the opportunity to progress as far and quickly as they want. The Vermont Academy Nordic program is sponsored by Salomon Skis, Boots, and Bindings, V2 Jenex Roller Skis, and Dominator Ski Wax.
VA’s Nordic coach, Joe Holland, joined Vermont Academy in 2024 with an impressive background as a nordic athlete as well as a nordic coach at New England independent schools. Joe has coached the Development Team at Dartmouth College, the Nordic team at The Putney School for nearly two decades, and most recently the Nordic team at St. Paul’s School for thirteen years.
If you are interested in Vermont Academy and skiing for the Nordic program, email Head Coach Joe Holland at jholland@vermontacademy.org.
