For those athletes who want to ski or snowboard but who don’t want to compete, Vermont Academy offers our recreational ski and snowboarding program. The program promotes outdoor adventure, the development of skiing or snowboarding skills, and the benefits of physical fitness in an outdoor mountain environment.

Four days a week, the recreational ski and snowboarding athletes head to nearby Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vermont and Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont. Between these two resorts, athletes have access to over 200 trails on 1,267 acres of some of southern Vermont’s best terrain. These athletes also have access to Vermont Academy’s '77 Snow Park, which includes snowmaking, ski jumps, a modest ski slope, lighting, and grooming.

These athletes are important members of our sports on snow community and can be immersed in the sports on snow culture at Vermont Academy by attending competitions in support our other on-snow athletes.
