The Vermont Academy Freeski team has an equal focus on filming and competition (slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines). We offer coaching in all aspects of freestyle skiing. The team finds the perfect balance between challenge, fun, competition, team camaraderie, fitness, and exposure within the ski industry.
We compete in the Lakes Region League within the NEPSAC. Skiers also have the option to compete in the USASA Southern Vermont Series, USSA A Level Freeride Series, as well as many local rail jams.
Freestyle skiing, as with all sports, involves an element of risk. As coaches, we take the responsibility of preparing our athletes through a goal-focused progression, preseason conditioning, mental preparation, and thorough course and park inspections. Helmets are mandatory.
When they’re not competing in Lake’s Region races or training at Mount Snow or Okemo, Vermont Academy athletes use our '77 Snow Park, which includes snowmaking, ski jumps, a modest ski slope, lighting, and grooming.
