Libby Cooper ’24 Commits to Colorado State University, Pueblo (CO), for Soccer

Congratulations to talented Vermont Academy soccer goalie Librieonna “Libby” Cooper ’24, for signing her National Letter of Intent to play Division II Women’s Soccer at Colorado State University, Pueblo (CO), next fall. Libby has proven to be a determined athlete and student and has become a valued member of our Wildcat community in her short time here.
Libby joined VA this year as a member of the Class of 2025 and then re-classed as a senior, allowing her to graduate early and commit to playing collegiate soccer. Libby started her VA soccer career and fall season with an injury, working hard to get back into playing shape. “After her recovery, she started to get back into her best performance and rhythm of the competition, which was a very important part of the team’s success,” said Head Coach of Girls’ Varsity Soccer Eduardo Caturla.

“We appreciated everything she did in goal, everything she did for the team, everything she did in practice, and her overall work ethic and willingness to get better,” he continued.

Libby accredits her academic and athletic accomplishments to the approachable nature of the faculty and staff in our community. “The environment at VA is very positive, so I never had problems finding help or seeking out someone I was comfortable to ask,” she shared.

Libby looks forward to being a part of the year-long training program at CSU Pueblo, and working with the new coach, John Constable.

“VA opened up my recruiting process more than I could have expected,” Libby said. “It was so much easier to find and be found by colleges.”

We look forward to seeing Libby continue her successes on and off the field at CSU Pueblo as she transitions to this next phase.
