Tough Loss

VA played its third game in 5 days in a road rematch against the Dublin School.  VA fell behind early with defensive lapses in the half court followed by an ineffective three-quarters court trap defense.  Once the Wildcats settled into the game, they were able to claw back to within 5 points at halftime.  VA found cohesion in the second half, moving the ball more effectively against Dublin's zone defense, and took the lead.  After patiently dissecting Dublin's full court trap defense for most of the game, VA lost its composure during a critical stretch and coughed up the ball on three straight possessions to relinquish the lead back.  VA fought back again, traded tough baskets with Dublin down the stretch, but ultimately fell 47-44 in a hard-fought game.
