Tough Loss

The Cougars of Cardigan hosted the VA Wildcats in their second showdown of the season.  Cardigan controlled the pace of the game from the start, first with an effective full court press, then with a stifling half court zone trap defense.  The Wildcats made up some ground through the first half, but a number of quick fast break opportunities pushed the halftime cougar lead to 49-30.  The Wildcats played with grit but ultimately were gassed, and the reserves scored some great buckets to close out the game.  Final score: 60-88
