Proctor Academy paid a visit to Saxtons River for a Saturday afternoon showdown. Proctor built a big early lead by finding open three-point shooters against the zone defense. The wildcats switched to man-to-man defense and clawed back to within 7 points at halftime. VA started the second half with great defensive energy, causing turnovers and fast break opportunities to get back even with Proctor and build a small lead. Struggles from the free-throw line prevented the Wildcats from pulling away, but they kept their cool during the final minutes to tally their first win of the season, 51-46.
