Vermont Academy traveled to the Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut to play Greenwich Academy at 4:15 p.m. Jacobelli ’19 earned the start between the pipes for the Wildcats.
The Gators struck first three minutes into the game, however, the Wildcats responded five minutes later of a goal by Creamer ’21 feed from Walsh ’22. Greenwich scored again to go up 2-1 to end the first. In the second period, the Gators scored the lone goal. VA would not give up though fighting back in the third and scoring two goals, one a tip by McCarthy ’22 off a Wood ’20 shot and the other by Walsh ’22 off a Keller ’20 feed. Greenwich would score another goal in the third to secure the 3-4 victory. Jacobelli ’19 finished the night with 24 saves.
The Wildcats travel back down to Connecticut on Wednesday, January 9th to face off against The Gunnery at Linen Rink at 5:15 p.m.
