Tie vs. Ironbound

An hour after the Wildcats beat a tough Shoreline Sharks team they played Ironbound U16 for the second time in two days. Sarah Jacobelli ’19 earned the start in net.

The game proved to be a tough test with back and forth play. Creamer ’21 put the Wildcats up first with a feed from Citera ’21. Three minutes later Ironbound responded, however, VA did not give up with less than a minute left in the period Creamer ’21 added another from Citera ’21 and Wood ’20. The second period was scoreless with both goalies making key saves to keep their teams in the game. In the third Ironbound struck first to tie the game at two. Less than a minute later Rogers ’20 scored her first career goal off a weird bounce to put the Wildcats up. Ironbound was determined and tied the game less than five minutes later. Unable to capitalize in the last ten minutes, the Wildcats skated away with a 3-3 tie.

VA is back in action after the break on January 4th, 2019 as they open the new year against Lakes Region foe Holderness at home at 4:30 p.m. The game will be live-streamed on the Vermont Academy YouTube page. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Holidays!
