Exciting Event Brings Supporters Together to Benefit Vermont Academy at Mount Snow Athletes and Programs
On Friday, February 28, alumni, families, and friends gathered at The Hermitage Club to celebrate and support Vermont Academy at Mount Snow. While the final fundraising totals are still being tallied, we are so grateful to all who came out to support our Vermont Academy at Mount Snow athletes and programs!
Several guests took advantage of crowd-free slopes as they skied and rode the now privately-owned Haystack Mountain on a beautiful blue-sky day. Vermont Academy at Mount Snow Director Ben Gardner even created a special scavenger hunt that encouraged guests to explore the mountain.
Following an afternoon on the slopes, guests were invited to a special après-ski in the lodge. With delicious hors d'oeuvres, two specialty cocktails, and conversations about the day flowing, guests enjoyed this opportunity to get to know one another and to learn about Vermont Academy at Mount Snow.
Head of School Dr. Jennifer L. Zaccara opened the remarks by welcoming attendees, thanking Ben for his work since he joined the team last summer, and sharing highlights about Vermont Academy’s historic sports on snow programs.
Following Dr. Zaccara, Ben shared updates about the current snowsports teams, his vision for Vermont Academy at Mount Snow (including the possibility of sending four athletes to the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT in 2034), and his enthusiasm for the athletes and coaches who make the program special.
The evening concluded by announcing the scavenger hunt winner, drawing raffle prizes, and thanking those who participated in the online auction.
