VA VS. Stratton Mountain School

The Wildcats notched another win on Friday with a well-played game against Stratton Mountain School. The Wildcats lost the first draw but quickly recovered to score the first goal of the game. Maggy Peyton started the Wildcats off with a gorgeous crease roll goal. VA didn't stop there and netted 8 more goals in the first half. Goals in the first half were scored by Maggy Peyton (4) Riley Walsh (1) Kelly Citera (1), Syd Henry (1), and Kalaya Hudzeic scored her first goal for the Wildcats!! Things slowed a bit in the second half and SMS netted two beautiful goals. The SMS goalie made some gorgeous saves and SMS strengthened their defensive game. Still, the Wildcats prevailed and Jenna Powers, Ellie Matte (2), Syd Henry and Kelly Citera all scored for the Wildcats. The win was a full team effort with excellent transition, draw control, and assists from midfielders Sophie Streed, Maggie Hodgson, Sydney Henry, and Riley Walsh. Jenna Powers, Klara Jandusikova, Ani Kapral, and Elizabeth Pitts all had excellent defensive games for VA. Ash Cavanaugh was involved in multiple plays for the Wildcats and Kristyna Kaltounkova had a thrilling game in goal with 11 saves and some excellent clears.
