This game was certainly full of excitement and surprises. Vermont Academy took the lead 2 minutes in the game with a beautiful crease roll from Maggy Peyton. Proctor answered with a goal of their own but VA took the lead again with Jenna Power's first goal for the Wildcats. Proctor and VA went back and forth for the entire first half with 2 more goals from Maggy Peyton and a goal from Sydney Henry. The half ended with the Wildcats up 5-4! The second half brought a reenergized Proctor team and they quickly grabbed the lead. Goalkeeper, Kristyna Kaltounkova, had a fabulous game in goal and carried the ball past the 50 yard line multiple times. Maggy Peyton put another goal in during the second half giving her our season's first hat trick. Ellie Matte put two beautiful goals in during the second half. Peyton had three assists, Maggie Hodgson had two, and Sophie Streed and Syd Henry each had an assist. Sophie Streed, Maggie Hodgson, Sydney Henry, and Maggy Peyton earned the draw control 12 times throughout the game. Jordan Loya, Klara Jandusikova, Ani Kapral, and Elizabeth Pitts had excellent defensive games. Kaltounkova had 22 saves for VA.
