Pinky Rasmussen ’24 Commits to Salve Regina University for Hockey

Congratulations to talented Vermont Academy hockey player Kiersten “Pinky” Rasmussen ’24, for signing her National Letter of Intent to play Division III Women’s Hockey at Salve Regina University (RI) next fall. Pinky has made major athletic and academic impacts throughout her time at VA.
Pinky just wrapped her third season on VA’s Girls’ Varsity Hockey team. An unstoppably hard worker, Pinky garnered ten points with five goals and five assists for the ’23-’24 season as well as two short-handed goals, and five points with two goals and two assists in the ’22-’23 season. Remarkably, Pinky doubled her points from her junior to senior season, playing in half the amount of games in her senior year due to an injury that kept her out of the season’s first half.

“To say I am excited for Pinky for this next chapter in her hockey career would be an understatement. She has worked relentlessly hard to get to where she is today, battling through injuries and other setbacks to reach this achievement,” says Head Coach of Girls’ Varsity Hockey Madison Paydos ’18. “Pinky is the type of teammate that gives 110% in everything she does, whether it is on the ice, in the classroom, serving as a proctor, or in the gym. She pushes herself to give her all and without even knowing it, motivating those around her to follow suit.”

“I made many close friendships on the VA hockey team that supported and pushed me to be a better player and teammate,” Pinky shared. “I'm incredibly grateful to be able to continue playing hockey at a higher level at Salve Regina and to challenge myself to improve as a player. I’m most thankful to my mom who has always supported me unconditionally and been there for me when I needed her the most.”

We look forward to seeing Pinky thrive at Salve, both academically and athletically as she enters this next chapter.
