Join us for the 3rd Annual Northern New England Independent Schools Alumni of Color Panel on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 7 p.m. (ET).
This year's conversation topic is Bringing Your Best Self to the School Community and Beyond. Alumni representing each of the six participating schools and an array of industries will share their insights during a lively conversation.
Moderator Don Lowery '73 (Kimball Union Academy) shared this description of the panel discussion:
Students of color bring unique backgrounds, experiences, and outlooks as they navigate the world of independent boarding schools, college life, and the professional world. Incorporating these personal attributes while pursuing academic excellence and personal growth, in surroundings that are often unfamiliar, requires the students to rely on their abilities to adjust to life in an environment that can feel uncomfortable and, sometimes, very puzzling. The panel of boarding school alumni, representing a wide range of decades and perspectives, will recount the important lessons they learned and how they handled their passages through the world of independent schools and beyond.
Following the panel, attendees are invited to participate in a virtual speed networking session.
